I Has a Hot Dog: from the team behind I Can Has Cheezburger, but for dogs.

12/5/2007

I Question: I think it’s not all felines, just kittens. Every adult cat I’ve encountered is quite comfortable with the strictures of grammar.

11/12/2007

The Terrifying Toothpick Fish: I’ve had soap in there before and I think I’d rather die than have a devilfish lodge itself there. Mental note: avoid the Amazon at all costs.

11/2/2007

River Dance Monkeys: when I first saw that Arby’s commercial (fast-forwarding on Tivo, I exclaimed, “Did I just see some dancing monkeys?” and immediately rewound) I laughed my ass off. {via}

Kitty Goes Potty: video of cats doing it people-style. I wish I had the time to toilet train my kitten (though at 2 lbs. I don’t know that she’d be able to manage the toilet).

7/19/2006

Baby Animalz: aside from the utterly objectionable plural substitution, this site is nothing but cute. Sometimes you just need a whole lot of cute little critters and Cute Overload‘s one-a-day just isn’t sufficient.

7/13/2006

Cats That Look Like Hitler: was ist dieses? They call them “kitlers,” which I’m still on the fence about whether I hate or not, and this one is obviously the closest in resemblance.

6/15/2006

Meow Mix House: a reality TV show on Animal Planet where 10 cats live in a single house, are under constant surveillance, and vie for the top spot as a Meow Mix spokescat. Let’s see if my calculations are correct: Big Brother + The Apprentice + Survivor = WTF.

Confirmed Unprovoked Shark Attacks, 2000-2004: that’s their title. My title is “Places I’m Likely Never to Visit.”

10/6/2005

CitiKitty: toilet train your cat. My wife’s grandmother had a cat that used the toilet, but it always seemed like an urban legend. On the other hand, there are fews things in this life that I’d rather not do more than training a cat to do anything.

9/12/2005

Sugar Bush Squirrel: I can’t decide which is more amazing/disturbing: a) the fact that the squirrel will pose for these pictures, b) the fact that someone would pose a squirrel for these pictures, or c) the fact that someone is actually making squirrel-sized outfits and scenes. {via}

4/3/2005

Eat Liver: a source for those crazy pix on that Internet. Especially this one.

I Gave My Cat an Enema: I can relate—my cat’s been getting poo stuck in his butt fur and not enjoying the removal process (it wasn’t champagne and roses on my side either, Francisco). {via}

3/28/2005

9/25/2003

If you thought dog and cat shows were bad, what sort of people show rats?

9/15/2003

My friend found this funny, but I’m not sure why. I’ve seen footage of a moose stuck in an empty pool and heard about elk going down bobsled tracks, but this is a bear being shot out of a tree. The others I mentioned were so incongruous that you could empathize with the homeowner or track maintenance.

9/13/2003

I have never seen sharks do this before. Amazing!

8/5/2003

A well-designed site, PotatoBugs.com revels in hatred for the potato bug. Describing itself as “dedicated to the fabrication and perpetuation of fear, hate, and disgust for the Potato Bug,” the site features pictures, e-cards, surprisingly active message boards, and articles. The potato bug is definitely scary looking, but around here I’ve always heard the potato bug name applied to what are also known as pill bugs.

Poor Japanese dogs.

Poor, poor Japanese dogs.
