MovieBob Reviews Pixels: super vulgar review, but does a convincing job of skewering the movie. {via}

10 “Seinfeld” episodes that are racist and sexist in retrospect: an article about nothing. {via}

Web Design – The First 100 Years: this feels important in a way that I can’t quite elaborate. Same as this conversation.

The University of Michigan opened an ultra-realistic testing site for futuristic cars: this is so cool and I hope it actually helps with the development of self-driving cars. (I fear that it’s not “real world” enough.) It seems like Detroit could’ve provided a much larger, more realistic setting for a lot less. {via}

A Brief History of Everything: I’m not a fan of deGrasse Tyson, but this is quite well done and fairly easy to understand.

I want this when I die: it’s all about leaving a legacy for future generations to benefit from. I hope I can be this crotchety someday.

Produce Shoplifters: very funny and then guffaws at the end. (Fixed the title, which was less than descriptive.)

Velazquez v. City of Long Beach: Circuit Court decision provides a valuable piece of information (in footnote on last page of decision). Don’t express gratitude or temporal-based salutations in the courtroom of Rhode Island District Court Judge Smith. {via}

Steve Jobs Insult Response: handled beautifully with a hard-won lesson delivered. (I’m sure many of the Apple employees in the room who knew Jobs were expecting his trademark fury. Bonus lesson: you don’t melt down on your customers.) {via}

Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences: I figured that it wasn’t part of Alfred Nobel’s original scheme, but I didn’t know that its money came from the Swedish Central Bank. Also, that Fredrich Hayek protested his award: “The Nobel Prize confers on an individual an authority which in economics no man ought to possess…. This does not matter in the natural sciences. Here the influence exercised by an individual is chiefly an influence on his fellow experts; and they will soon cut him down to size if he exceeds his competence. But the influence of the economist that mainly matters is an influence over laymen: politicians, journalists, civil servants and the public generally.” {via}

Green Dawn: sub-reddit for photos of army men in public places. Of course it exists. {via}

Bloom County 2015: I am thrilled to be reading it again. I just wish it wasn’t through Facebook, which makes it harder to follow along.

Wikipedian in Residence for Gender Equity: why is tuition so expensive? {via}

Glennz Tees: there are some real gems in here.

Surprising Applications of the Magnus Effect: surprising, indeed. More about the rotor ship, which is fascinating.

Comic Con the Musical: Whitney Avalon is amazing! Check out her Princess Rap Battles after this one.

Cup of Brown Joy: tea-themed rap that’s part of something called “chap-hop,” which apparently exists. Another example is “Just Like a Chap”. {via}

He Man – What’s Going On: bizarre yet it works somehow. {via}

MINI Basketball Fail: important life lesson: don’t gloat until you’re out of range.
